Dung Quat Refinery Processes 100 million Tonnes of Crude Oil After 15 Years

The Dung Quat Oil Refinery, located in Quang Ngai province and operated by Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company (BSR), marks a milestone, having processed over 100 tonnes of crude oil in its 15 years operation. Achieving up to 110% of its designed capacity, the refinery has played an important role in ensuring energy security and contributing to the economic growth of the region and Vietnam.

Looking forward, Dung Quat aims to increase production capacity from 148,000 to 171,000 barrels per day, with an investment of 1.26 billion USD. This expansion includes setting up additional workshops for processing high sulfur content crude oil, aligning with Euro 5 standards. The expansion adding 41ha to the current facility 10.6ha, is expected to complete by the first quarter of 2028.
